Navratri” festive of bright colours, dance & masti….

‘Nav’ means ‘nine’ and ‘ratri’ means ‘night’, thus, ‘Navratri’ means ‘nine nights’. It is one of the most celebrated festivals of the Hindu calender. This festival holds special significance for Gujratis and Bengalis and one can see it in the zeal and fervor of the people with which they indulge in the festive activities of the season.

The first three days of Navratri are dedicated to   Goddess Durga, next three to Goddess Lakshmi, and finally, last three to Goddess Saraswati.

This festival is celebrated in Gujarat in a very colourful manner, with all the people coming together and dancing the folk dance, Garba and Dandiya Raas.Dandiya and Garba Rass are the highlights of the festival in Gujarat while farmer sow seeds and thank the Goddess for her blessings and pray for better yield.

The origin of the Rasa is traced back to the legends connected with the life of Lord Krishna. The Rasa is performed in Gujarat India on Navaratra; and other important festivals.

In olden times, this festival was associated with the fertility of Mother Earth who feed us as her children. Sweetmeats are prepared for the celebrations and children and adults dress up in new bright-colored dresses for the night performances. With commercialization, the festival has moved on to be a social festival rather than a religious or agrarian festival. In some communities people undergo rigorous fasts during this season that lasts for the nine days of the festival, only to be opened on the tenth day of Dussehra.

One of the most reassuring things I have heard in recent times is tht its okay to be scared, you do not require courage to face what u do not fear.
It’s a comforting thought tht even the most courageous men and women were scared of tht which they ultimately faced and conquered.
They are heroes not cos their hearts never trembled with fear, but cos they conquered that fear.
So, fear becomes not just an acceptable but even  welcome emotion cos it paves the way for courage and heroism. It is fine to be frightened, but not to run away from it.
As with fear, so with other ‘negative emotions’. It is important to experience the entire gamut of emotions in order to fully appreciate life.
So fear is important as courage, sadness as important as happiness, to cry is as critical as  it to laugh, to grieve every bit as needed as to celebrate. If positive emotions help give us confidence and cheer, negative emotions too serve a purpose.
Negative emotions help us understand what is wrong with us and the way we are leading our lives, so that we may stop, reconsider and move on with added wisdom. Long back society dictated emotions we should or shouldn’t  feel. Men were not supposed to cry or show vulnerability; women were not supposed to show passion or laugh loud….

uhhh… those days are gone now now even a man sobs very badly and feel hurt  and women can show passion!!… Earlier they said leave emotions behind when you come to work; today organisations what individuals to get emotionally involved with work…
It is critical to be in charge of your emotions, not allow them to control you.

The best thing about emotions is that they don’t stay with you long. Try as you might, you can neither catch happiness by its forelock, nor pain by its tail…
thats why Shahrukh said in one of his movie “Haslo rolo gaalo muskuralo kya pata kal ho na ho”
hehehe thoda filmi tha but ya thts the truth…

We come across many people whom we remember some or the other day. They be the part of our memories as well.

When we are in college enjoying the most beautiful moments in life with our friends, professors, teachers  & others around us,

we also come across few others with whom we maintain a very good relationship.

guess who are they!!…

socho socho…

Comin Soon: exclusive vedios, photos of the very interesting people all around from aamchi Mumbai.

Parties are the best way to get together and have fun. While family reunions help you stay connected with your relatives, friends’ bashes enable pals to get together and know more about each other. Whenever you throw a party, whether for family members or friends, it is important to plan a few activities beforehand.

It not only ensures that the guests have a good time, but also help the ‘not-so-close-ones’ explore more about one another. One of the best activities is to have people sit together in a group and then ask some fun questions from them. This will help people, especially the shy ones, to open up and also bring up some interesting stories of the past.

So again I start my journey to meet new faces, n make new friends who can come and share their interesting past & present. As some one said it very correct that “strangers are just friends waiting to happen.”

Before that  I Would like to tell u about my college experience in short.

The first few days of college seemed just the same as my first two years of school. All things were going well, and things seemed to be going as I hoped they would. Then, one day I met these friends of mine, really interesting, humorous, crazy. I would say we all cant stay quiet for just few minutes also (all talkative), after meeting them I felt that now something exciting would happen,  each day would be full of surprises,  and yes it happened. We just enjoyed five years to the fullest, if any 1 ask me to spend more five years with the same group (of 22 fanatics) and in the same college then I am all set 4 it.

Those days were lovely in college ( L S Raheja College) : )

Today I entered college as an X-student, near by gate there was one group who I guess had bunked their lectures n were enjoying their snacks.

I just smiled and started walking ahead the first surprise was that our watchman (kaka what every 1 calls) recognized me and let me go in without identity card, I just waved at him n went in.

I went to the office area, staff room thought some one would meet me there but all were in lectures, I went to the cafeteria, the coolest place in our college where v spent max time playing games, teasing, yelling and which was our adda. Hehehe…

I was astonished to see my friends there; even they were surprised to see me. This was the second surprise of the day n I said to myself that today we again gonna rock.

We shared few things with each other cos we met after few months…

My palsOops… let me first introduce u with them, from the left 1st is Ankita Gala (Pii) at present into Fashion designing, Charmi Mistry (cham) pursuing diploma course in HR and also working with recruitment team & Avani Gala (Poo) into fashion designing. i call them pii, cham and poo.

They were my juniors, finished their graduation in 2008 batch. We became friends when I was in third year, Good pals and very special for me, aise toh all friends of mine are special in some or the other way. we were really glad to meet each other like this.

I was hungry like a bear so went to “Anna” sandwichwala and ordered to satiate my appetite soon. I was feeling that again I was in college n still there waiting for the rest of the pals to come n meet me. Then we four decided to go for lunch.sandwichwala

Before that again we went to the staff room to meet our teachers and this time we met our well-known professor who teach Law Mr. Lamani (Lamani sir), a very good person by nature and also very strict. I use to imitate him; he had caught me once doing this hehehehe….

I spoke to few students,

Collegchai: asked them how they feel being in the college and are u enjoying these days or no?

Anjali: yes we all enjoy a lot; we are here just for fun.

Collegechai: what about lectures? Is your name anytime in black list?

Tushar: dude normally we don’t attend any lectures n yes I feel proud that I found my name in black list n my parents were also called for this. But its fine I enjoy : )

Wow… we enjoyed all this a lot after 2yrs, and also seeing the exuberance of the present students we were reminded of our own college days which were a nostalgic moment for me.at tapri

As the time passed it was 12.30pm, these girls wanted to buy few Kurtis for Navratri. We shopped for few hours. All were hungry as well as exhausted so we choose a near by restaurant “Shabri” which is well known for its Pav bhaji , this was also our adda we use to go Shabri most of the time after college to have Pav bhaji and paper dosa. And the funniest thing is every time we ordered only 1 paper dosa  for four people or more people. And enjoy that like nithin.

So again we ordered paper dosa and four of us enjoyed it.

This day also added to our memories and this gave us a feeling of déjà vu

Guys its very well said that friends are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life, so make as many as friends and see how life changes .

I always knew looking back on the tears would make me laugh, But I never knew looking back on the laughs would make me cry.

This was all I wanted to share with you guys.

Friends I would like ull to come up n share some lovely moments of your college days.

U can mail me on collegechai@gmail.com or can call me on 9833710832

At last this is for all my friends

“I don’t remember how we happened to meet each other.
I don’t remember who got along with whom first.
All I can remember is all of us together…always.”

it was all fun talking to her… i toh enjoyed it.
1) Collegechai: Were you considered popular in high school? Why or why not?

yes, becoz i use to be problem solver, very jolly, participative in
each and every activity that use to happen in the school, good rapo
with all the teachers and due to bhai like attitude…..

2) Collegechai: I know u like to dance so

Do you dance like crazy, when no one is looking?

Dancing is my passion and i suffer from stage fear but whenever i go
to disc,  pub or navratri i dance like crazy and forget that someone
is looking at me or not….i m totally in my masti mood….

3) Collegechai: Do you like to sing in the shower? What do sing in the shower, if you do sing?

No i dont sing in the shower….but i have habbit of listening to
music whenever i take shower

4)Collegechai: If you were going to be stuck on a deserted island, which 5 books,
movies, people and foods would you take along?

5) Collegechai: As u are from Gujarat how did u plan to come Mumbai stay & study?
Was it difficult for u to convince ur parents? N did u ever find it
difficult to go with the fast moving life in Mumbai?

I m from a town called mahuva in Gujarat and after i completed my 12th
i anyhow had to leave mahuva for my further studies as there was no
good English medium college so it was my parents decision to send me
to Mumbai for my further studies bcoz all my relatives stay in Mumbai.
And for it was not difficult for me to match with fast moving Mumbai
life…. i love myself and love to live my life in the way i want and
so it doesn’t matter whether i stay in Mumbai, U.S.A, Singapore, Gujarat
i can adjust anywhere….

Collegechai: that’s cool…
6) Collegechai: now little bit sensible talks

ohk now as I know that u pursuing management Degree from the well
known University ( NMIMS ) lets talk something about management, m not
at all good in management studies I remember we had a subject n I
wasn’t really good in it, but then to lets go for it.

  • How do u spell Management?? Hehehe… I know its really funny but..Management
  • What does the SWOT stand for in SWOT analysis?Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats
  • In marketing, what are the The Four P’s? Product, Place, Price, Promotion
  • “Doing it right is no excuse for not meeting the schedule.”  What do u say about this as a management student?

No answer

Collegechai: that’s great n u got three right, if some one would have asked me this questions then I wouldn’t b able to answer.

hmmmm…. That means u study. Well there’s a chocolate for u
now lets stop this serious things
7) Collegechai: are you humorous? What shows that u r like that?

Yes i m humorous. My friendly and talkative nature shows that i m like that.
8) Collegechai: There’s a funny quote “A Man Without A Woman Is
Like A Neck Without A   Pain” what Is ur view for this 1?

WHATEVER….but according to me “A man without
woman is incomplete”. So now a days we can see that one man has many
women bcoz may be one woman is not enough for their completeness…..

Collegechai: that’s cool……
9) Collegechai: What was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you?

As i said before i have stage fear and i never participate for solo
dancing and there was one competition in school for solo dance and
there was no one from my house to perform for solo dance as i was a
house captain i was told by my teachers that i have to perform solo
and when i was on the stage I was very nervous and blank and
when song was played i was just turning round and round and there was
one step where i had to sit and then get up and when i was trying to
get up i was about to fall bcoz of the dress i was wearing and
everyone present out there were laughing at me as it was quite
noticeable… so it was very embarrassing for me….

Collegechai: ohk pooja let me tell u that I had gone thru many such instances but it was fine it wasn’t that embarrassing. So chalta hai yaar….
10) Collegechai: lastly as we work together in the same organization, we are in the
same team.

What did you think of me when you first saw me? And Which was the
moment when I impressed you most?

That u were very friendly, emotional and understanding…..i was
impressed when we had a conversation in the nesco cafeteria regarding
our team unity and team bonding for contribution team when there were
disputes going on….

Collegechai: wow I feel great tht koi toh hai jo mujse impress hua hai.

Ohk pooja that was really a cool conversation with you great I enjoyed  as you were bindaas to answer all my foolish questions.

Wish u all the very best for your future endeavors.

Garbage carOne of my good experience…

One day I hopped into a friends car and we took off for the ride.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.
My friend slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!
The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
My friend just smiled and waved at the guy.
And, I mean he was really friendly. So I asked, “Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!”
This is when my friend taught me what I now call “The Law of the Garbage Truck.”

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.
As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you.
Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on : )
Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the street.

The bottom line is that successful people don’t let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so…
“Love the people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don’t.”
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Good Day : )
